Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas was robbed by an armed man who took away $1.5 million of chips. According to police spokesperson, an armed person entered the casino at 3:50 am local time wearing full-face motorcycle helmet. The robber then pulled out his gun and asked everyone in the casino not to move. He later took away about $1.5 million of casino chips and ran back to his motorcycle.
The police suspect that the armed gunman was the same person who had robbed $20,000 worth of chips from Las Vegas Suncoast Hotel and Casino last week.
The man who robbed the Bellagio casino was white male, who was about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed about 220 pounds and was last seen wearing black pants, motorcycle helmet, black down jacket and black gloves. The motorcycle used by the robber was either 2009 or 2010 sports bike.
MGM Resorts which owns the Bellagio casino confirmed that robbery had taken place in their casino. However, they declined to give information on the robbery amount and the steps they have taken.
In a television interview, Lt. Clint Nichols of the Las Vegas Police Department said “He parked, he walked in, he committed the robbery”. He further added that robber was quick.
According to police, the robbery at Bellagio casino was the 10th casino robbery in Las Vegas this year. However, this robbery is the biggest casino robbery this year.
