New models of Maruti Suzuki Alto launched in India and China

Indians have their eye on the price tag of a product and Maruti is aware of the Indian market condition. The company has priced its bestselling car in India Suzuki Alto the cheapest in the world. In fact, the car is cheaper by Rs. 1 lakh when compared to its Chinese counterpart.

According to a recent report in Economic Times, the price of Suzuki Alto is between 44900 – 58900 yuan that is about Rs. 3.2 to 3.96 lakh. This is expensive as the price of Suzuki Alto in india is between Rs. 2.4 to 2.8 lakh.

Suzuki has also made changes in the models of the car to meet the changing demands of its customers. In China, the company has launched Alto Cool that is priced at Rs. 3.65 lakh for manual transmission and Rs. 4.43 lakh for the auto transmission model. In India, Suzuki has launched the Alto K-10 that has a new engine and is priced between Rs. 3.03 lakh and Rs. 3.16 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki is facing stiff competition in small car segment as many car makers have come out with models to capture this lucrative segment. Some of the models that could prove to be stiff competition to Maruti Suzuki Alto include Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra and Hyundai i10.
