From September 1st all people who want to buy new Hyundai Car will have to pay more for their car. The company is planning to increase the prices of all its models by about 1.2 percent. This means that your favourite Hyundai Santro will be Rs. 3500 more expensive and the Hyundai Sonata will be higher by Rs. 10,000.
The company blamed the unprecedented rise in commodity prices for the hike in prices of the cars. India’s inflation is rising at a rapid pace and has shown a double digit rise for past few months. Hyundai move comes after its main competitor in India has raised prices of its car in August this year.
Another car maker Toyota is also planning to hike the prices of its car. The company plans to increase the prices in October 2010. Some of the cars that Toyota sells in India include the Corolla Altis, Innova and the SUV Fortuner. The company also imports the premium segment SUV Prado and the Camry.
