With most car makers launching small cars to fulfil the needs of India’s growing middle class, Toyota does not want to be left behind. The Japanese car maker has highly successful models like Toyota Corolla and Innova that cater to the upper middle and the premium segment of the market. The company plans to launch its much awaited Etios model by December 2010.

Toyota has not yet declared the launch price of the car. However, most people are expecting the car to be priced between 4 to 5 lakh. Since the low price car segment is a high volume segment, the company is expecting a sale of 70,000 units in the first year.

Toyota plans to launch many fuel variants of the Etios to ensure that its customers get the best. If sources are to be believed the company plans to launch the diesel, petrol, LPG, CNG and hybrid variant.
