Update on Pakistan cricket match fixing scandal

For cricket crazy nations like India and Pakistan any match fixing controversy is bond to have an impact on the people of these countries. The recent revelation of match-fixing controversy by Sunday tabloid has sent ripples in these cricketing nations. The fans are not only angry but also disappointed by the attitude of their players.

On Sunday, a British tabloid reported paid 150,000 pounds to a middleman to give details of 3 no-balls that Pakistani bowlers bowled against England at Lord’s. The report alleged that Pakistani bowlers Mohammad Aamer and Mohammad Asif have deliberately no-balls at the exact point in the match as told by the fixer. These two Pakistani seamers are not the only players that have been investigated in match fixing scandal. The name of Pakistani Skipper Salman Butt is also been dragged in this match fixing controversy.

The Pakistani sports minister has categorically stated that Pakistani government will impose a life ban on players who are found guilty in match fixing scandal. In an interview to a private channel, the minister said that a meeting is arranged between the Pakistan cricket board and ICC to discuss the allegations against Pakistani players. The meeting will also discuss the action that can be taken against players who are found guilty.
