CMA Awards nominations are out: Miranda Lambert Tops

The nominations for CMA Awards are out and Miranda Lambert received the maximum 9 nominations. The nominations for last 5 nominees were announced by Dierks Bentley and Lambert in NYC in a segment of ABC’s show Good Morning America.

Lambert had already received 5 nominations in the initial 7 nominations that where announced in Nashville on Tuesday. On Wednesday she received nominations for the best female vocalist, entertainer of the year, music event of the year and the album of the year. On Tuesday she was nominated for the best single of the year, best video of the year and the song of the year.

Others who were nominated on Wednesday included Lady Antebellum for entertainer of the year and album of the year. Lady Antebellum where earlier nominated for vocal group of the year, video of the year and the single of the year.

Miranda Lambert who was virtually unknown before 2003 gained fame after she entered the finals of the 3rd season of Nashville Star. Her first album Kerosene was a huge hit and was certified Platinum in U.S. Lambert has the distinction of being only the 3rd female country singer to have 3 record debuts at No.1 position in Billboard Country Album.
