Traditionally Maruti Suzuki India is known of its economy cars. The company’s most popular model Maruti 800 was one of the highest selling low budget cars in India. However, the company has changed its marketing strategy with the launch of the premium car Kizashi. This move of the company is looked by many analysts as an attempt by the company to change its image.

Maruti is still the market leader in India with more than 50 per cent market share. Some of the popular models from the company include the Swift and the Alto. Most of the premium cars of the company are priced below Rs. 10 lakh and cater to the upper middle class. With the launch of Kizashi, the company plans to target the elite section of the society.

The car comes with a 2.4-liter engine and come with both automatic and manual transmission. The manual transmission is likely to be priced at Rs. 16.5 lakh and the automatic transmission will be available at Rs. 17.5 lakh. Kizashi will be imported as fully built unit from Suzuki Motor Corp. in Japan. The company is planning to import CKD of Kizashi and assemble in its Indian plant. Assembling the car in India is likely to reduce the price of the car as duty of fully built unit is more than 100 per cent.

Katrina Kaif is always known to be politically correct and does lose her poise in front of the camera. However, when Katrina was at the set of the popular show Big Boss she was not happy the way she was treated.

Katrina Kaif went to Big Boss 4 to promote her film Tees Maar Khan.  The show is hosted by Dabangg actor Salman Khan who is also the ex-boyfriend of the popular actress. Apparently Salman Khan was not happy of the recent link up of the actress with actor Ranbir Kapoor. He started asking her questions about her co-star in the film Akshay Kumar and also about Ranbir Kapoor. The questions soon became demeaning which Katrina Kaif did not like. Salman Khan also started making fun of Katrina Kaif’s Hindi which brought tears in her eyes.

After some time, Katrina Kaif rushed to her make-up van to avoid further humiliation. When she returned to the set of Big Boss, the whole interview was reshot. Also, certain portions of the interview were edited so that viewers did not see the  humiliation the actress had to go through.

Tata Nano

The falling sales of Tata Nano has forced the company to come out with offers that will help in increasing the sales of the car. The company has announced a special car finance scheme that will help customers of Tata Nano get car loan in just 48 hours.

Tata Motor Finance, the financial arm of Tata Motors, will provide up to 90 per cent finance on Tata Nano at low rate of interest. You can avail the loan at any of the 540 outlets of Tata Motors.

Earlier, Tata Motors had announced 60,000 kilometre or 4-year manufacturing warranty to improve the sales of the car. The customers will not have to pay anything extra for this warranty. New customers of Tata Nano can get comprehensive warranty on the car by paying an additional Rs. 99 a month.

Initially, Nano sales were excellent and the company sold more than 9,000 units in July 2010. However, when incidents of car catching fire were reported, the sales of the car began to fall. Tata Motors was able to sell only 509 units on Nano in November 2010. Despite the assurances of the company, the sales of Nano never picked up.

Earlier this month, the company had fitted an additional device in the car that would help in preventing the vehicle from catching fire. This new safety device was fixed free of cost for both old and new customers of Tata Nano.

On November 9, the company announced a new and improved Nano that will come with enhanced exhaust and electrical system. Existing owners of Tata Nano could get these features installed in their car at no extra cost.

The decrease in demand for Tata Nano has forced Tata Motors to begun open sales of the car. Today, you can just walk-in to a Tata Motors showroom and drive away with your Nano. Easy availability of the car is likely to improve its sales.

Bellagio casino

Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas was robbed by an armed man who took away $1.5 million of chips. According to police spokesperson, an armed person entered the casino at  3:50 am local time wearing full-face motorcycle helmet. The robber then pulled out his gun and asked everyone in the casino not to move. He later took away about $1.5 million of casino chips and ran back to his motorcycle.

The police suspect that the armed gunman was the same person who had robbed $20,000 worth of chips from Las Vegas Suncoast Hotel and Casino last week.

The man who robbed the Bellagio casino was white male, who was about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed about 220 pounds and was last seen wearing black pants, motorcycle helmet, black down jacket and black gloves. The motorcycle used by the robber was either 2009 or 2010 sports bike.

MGM Resorts which owns the Bellagio casino confirmed that robbery had taken place in their casino. However, they declined to give information on the robbery amount and the steps they have taken.

In a television interview, Lt. Clint Nichols of the Las Vegas Police Department said “He parked, he walked in, he committed the robbery”. He further added that robber was quick.

According to police, the robbery at Bellagio casino was the 10^th casino robbery in Las Vegas this year. However, this robbery is the biggest casino robbery this year.

The teaser sketch of 2012 Honda Civic concept has been released by American Honda Motor Company. The company plans to showcase the next generation car at the Detroit Motor Show that will be held in January 2011.

The American version of 2012 Honda Civic concept will be slightly different from the global version of the car. The 2012 Honda Civic that is likely to be available in both coupe and sedan variant is likely to be sportier than its existing model. Also, the front view of the car indicates that it is likely to replicate the bold look of its European model in the global version of the car.

The exact date of the launch is not yet known, however most people are expecting the car to reach the showrooms in 3^rd quarter of next year. Even though the company has come out with sketches of the car the exact technical specification of the car is not yet known. All we know is that Honda has taken inputs from its customers to make improvements in its popular model.

BMW X1

The market for luxury car in India is expanding and BMW is making all efforts to ensure it has leadership share in this segment. The company is coming out with SUV for people who are looking for budget luxury car. The company is planning to launch X1 on December 23. It is the cheapest car from BMW and is likely to be priced at Rs. 23 lakh.

Initially the company is planning to launch the two models of X1 called the Highline and Corporate Edition. The X1 Corporate Edition will come with 1.8L petrol engine and 2.0L diesel engine. The diesel version of X1 will have a 2.0L engine and can produce a maximum bhp of 176. Both the cars are likely to have automatic and manual transmission option. Those of you who are waiting for the all-wheel drive version of X1 will have to wait as the launch date of its all-wheel drive model xDrive is not yet known.

Some of the cars that BMW X1 will be competing with include Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Outlander. BMW will import the X1 as a CKD and will assemble it at its Chennai plant. However in the long run, the company plans to manufacture all the components of the car locally.

Going by the number of people who have booked the X1, the new SUV is likely to be one of the most successful launches by BMW in India. According to sources, the company has received booking for more than 200 X1 in Delhi region alone. To book your BMW you will have to make a down payment of 3 lakh and will have to wait for at least 5 months to get your car.
